Movie Review : Chemical Hearts

In today's blog, my dearest friend Sherlin, a new & upcoming blogger, is going to review Chemical Hearts. We both share a love for movies, and I'm excited to show you'll what she has in store for us.

A movie with the ability to summon Niagara Falls from your eyes, is based on a novel by Krystal Sutherland titled 'Our Chemical Hearts'. It is that type of movie that will wreck your heart and keep you awake at night thinking about all your blunders.

The plot surrounding, Henry Page (played by Austin Abrams) and Grace Town (played by Lili Reinhart), is an extremely raw story and it feels so real that it almost feels unedited, and is very impeccably portrayed. Lili literally slayed this movie. Her persona had such profundity and elegance. Whereas Austin precisely depicted a high school teenage kid, with a ton of time on his hands, can be elusive, he was so reasonable. But personally, the character of Henry was very flat and monotonous.

The movie delves deeper into the human mind, how we cope up with different kinds of situations and trials in our lives. The general content of this film was awesome and it was one of the more sensible depictions of melancholy, young life, and discovering your direction in this messed up world, I simply wish that there should have been something more added to the characters. Impressive acting, marvelous heading, spectacular story, and relatable yet noteworthy characters. The plot doesn't attempt to shroud any feelings and permits the watcher to encounter the universe of young people as it is loaded with vulnerabilities, awful choices, apprehensions, disobedience, and disclosure. I feel subjects like these consistently are left untold.

Here are some beautiful quotes from the movie that'll tear you apart -

"When I look at that, it reminds me that people are just the ashes of dead stars. We’re just a collection of atoms that come together for a brief period of time, and then we fall apart. When all of this is over and we are dispersed back into nothingness we have a clean slate. It’s like having all of your sins wiped away".

"I do not love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz, or arrow of carnations that propagate fire. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul".

"Adults are just scarred kids who are lucky enough to make it out of limbo alive".

"Love, it’s a chemical reaction that comes and goes. Here’s the good news, so is heartbreak. Your brains adjusts. Your body chemistry changes back to normal".

"We tend to think of scars as ugly or imperfect, as things we want to hide or forget. But they never go away".

"Scars are not reminders of what’s been broken, but rather of what’s been created".

"I was never going to be ready, until I was ready, you know?"

"I have to go find my words again".

"You are an extraordinary collection of atoms, Henry Page".
