Female Fictional Characters I Look Up To

Hey Merfolk!

We all admire some qualities, we wish to have in ourselves. Sometime looking at a role model helps us achieve that goal. Today I bring you all the female characters I look up to.

Kate Beckett

Katherine "Kate" Houghton Beckett is an NYPD Captain in charge of the 12th Precinct, after being promoted from homicide detective, and a former Federal government agent. She is portrayed by Stana Katic, in the ABC crime series Castle.

Kate is a strong, disciplined, no-nonsence type of person. She's rational, pratical person, who knows what the f**k she's doing. She gives her hundred percent and does her job well. She is tough but also caring and reliable at the same time. Castle is one of my most favourite shows and Kate Beckett is one those characters who should look upto. Did I mention, she once ran in high-heel boots to arrest a suspect. Respect!

Chole Decker

Detective Chloe Jane Decker. Her late father was a LAPD officer, and she is a homicide detective. She solves crimes with Lucifer, who takes an interest in her upon noticing that she seems to be immune to his abilities. Portrayed by Lauren German, in the American urban fantasy television series Lucifer.

Detective Decker is a no-nonsense cop, a fantastic mom, and a reliable friend. She is smart, sensible and mature. She is somenone who gives good advise and will take care of you.

Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is an American comic book superheroine created by the American psychologist and writer William Moulton Marston (pen name: Charles Moulton). Played by Gal Gadot in the 2017 movie.

She is an Amazon – Olympian Demigoddess. She is wise, strong, powerful, kind, fair, honest and caring. She is a true role model for young girls out there.

Zoya "Zee" Humaimi

Played by Katrina Kaif in Ek Tha Tiger, is an ISI agent who goes undercover to counteract the efforts of Tiger.

Though technically not an Indian in real life or the movie, it is good to see someone as our very own playing a badass spy. Killer beauty! (Yes, pun intended).

Cassie Thomas

Cassandra "Cassie" Thomas, played by Carey Mullingan in Promising Young Woman.

Have you watched the movie? If you have, you know what she has been through. Cassie is smart and sensible, but also kind and caring. And a very good friend. Her take on her situation was brilliant. It is an eye opening movie. And she is an eye opening character.

Covey Sisters - Margot, Lara Jean, Kitty

One of my all time fav movies 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' introduced me to the Covey sisters, played by Janel Parrish, Lana Condor and Anna Cathcart respectively.

The eldest sister Margot is smart, mature caring and wise. Lara Jean well is awkward, clumsy, adorable and loving. Just like you and me. And Kitty, well she is the queen of sass, do I speak more.

Kashaf Murtuza

I wrote about the show 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' in my previous blog. Kashaf, played by Sanam Saeed, is a relatable character. There is so much learn from her patience and resilience. She worked hard to make a good living for her mother and sisters.

Naina Talwar

Played by Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Naina was a shy and timid girl. She took the courage to go on that trip, and from that point on she never looked back. That kindof solo trip helped her find who she was, and brought her out of her shell.

Kavya Kulkarni

Played by Mithila Palkar in Little Things, comes our very own Biryani Monster. You see her grow in every season. She is an amazing role model for every city girl. She is independent, confident, caring, but also figuring out other aspects of life.
