Female Fictional Characters I Look Up To

Image
Hey Merfolk! We all admire some qualities, we wish to have in ourselves. Sometime looking at a role model helps us achieve that goal. Today I bring you all the female characters I look up to. Kate Beckett Katherine "Kate" Houghton Beckett is an NYPD Captain in charge of the 12th Precinct, after being promoted from homicide detective, and a former Federal government agent. She is portrayed by Stana Katic, in the ABC crime series Castle. Kate is a strong, disciplined, no-nonsence type of person. She's rational, pratical person, who knows what the f**k she's doing. She gives her hundred percent and does her job well. She is tough but also caring and reliable at the same time. Castle is one of my most favourite shows and Kate Beckett is one those characters who should look upto. Did I mention, she once ran in high-heel boots to arrest a suspect. Respect! Chole Decker Detective Chloe Jane Decker. Her late father was a LAPD officer, and she is a homicide detective. She solv

Best Comedy Tv Shows

Hey Merfolk! Today I bring you the most funniest tv shows out that you got to watch. You must have heard a few of them on the internet, and let me tell you they are true to their hype.  Below are my favourite comedy shows, arranged chronologically : Friends (1994) Follow the lives of six reckless adults - Rachel Greene, Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Chandler Bing, Phoebe Buffay, and Joey Tribbiani, living in Manhattan, as they indulge in adventures which make their lives both troublesome and happening. Will & Grace (1998) Will & Grace is set in New York City and focuses on the relationship between Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and his best friend Grace Adler, a Jewish woman who owns an interior design firm. Also featured are their friends Karen Walker, a demonically alcoholic socialite, and Jack McFarland, a flamboyantly gay actor. The interplay of relationships features the trials and tribulations of dating, marriage, divorce, and casual sex; as well as comical key stereotypes of g

Must Watch Tv & Web Series

Image
Hey Merfolks! I'm back, with pop-culture of the past and present. I can't wait to share my favourite shows and movies with you. For the next 6 months you'll hear from me every once a month. Today I'm recommending the best shows out there (that I have watched till date). Fun, drama, comedy, romance, suspence, sci-fi, a little bit of everything. Arranged chronologically, here are my favourite must watch tv & web series : Freaks & Geeks (1999) The show follows gifted high schooler Lindsay Weir, who befriends a gang of slacker 'freaks', and her younger brother Sam, as he & his geek friends navigate high school. WE. NEED. MORE. SHOWS. LIKE. THIS. Nowadays teenage drama series have so much sex in it. Shows are so intense and unrealistic. That's all fiction and fun to watch, but once in a while we need less drama and more relatability. Freaks and Geeks was so laidback and real. Being a teenager is tough, and so is highschool. Watching Freaks & Geeks

Indian Soap Operas With Surprisingly Good Stories

Image
There was a time I used to watch tv serials religiously, but now thanks to web shows, I don't have the patience to go through ads. Also my taste in shows has evolved, I can't sit through the unnecessary drama. But there was a time when the Indian Tv Soap Operas had good shows, with really good story lines, not the regular saas-bahu ke nakhre. Here are some Indian Tv shows that I enjoyed & you will too : Hum Pannch (1995) Anand Mathur lives with his five daughters, whose pranks annoy him. Moreover, he is pestered by the sarcastic comments from his first wife, who although dead, cannot resist interfering in his life. I haven't watched the whole show but the episodes I saw were really funny. My parents used to watch this. Fun fact : Vidya Balan was part of this show.  Hum Paanch Poster Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai (2004) Monisha, who gets married into the rich Sarabhai family, lives opposite to her in-laws. However, there is a constant conflict between them due to her middle-clas
